We offer fully confidential photography sessions for clients who value their privacy: closed-studio bookings, password-protected galleries, NDAs on request, and a strict policy of never publishing your images without your written consent.

Most photographers rely on sharing your sessions online — ours doesn’t have to. Whether you are a public figure, an executive, a family with safety considerations, or simply prefer your children’s photos stay off the internet, your images exist in exactly one place: with you.

Private sessions include a closed studio (your booking is the only one), discreet on-location work at your home or office — arriving unbranded if preferred — expiring private gallery links, and file deletion on request once your order is delivered. Executives, public figures and high-profile families welcome.

The foundation is digital portraits, but we will take you beyond the screen and share the value in the joy your family brings daily, when you can touch and see tangible prints. Additional images are available to purchase in larger collections upon viewing.

We provide a large range of dresses to borrow and recommend in studio : body fitting gowns, fabric wraps, lingerie sets, white shirt & jeans is popular or semi-nude with fabric draping (if comfortable).

For outdoors: Flowy maxi dresses, form-fitting dresses that showcase your bump, or coordinated outfits with your partner.

Professional hair and makeup can enhance your photos and help you feel your best. We partner with talented Sydney-based makeup artists who specialise in maternity photography and can arrange this service for an additional fee of $395.

Generally, the timing all depends on the interactions and behaviours of your family members. If we have some work to do with shy and more reserved children, our approach is not rushed but gentle.

The same is to be said for slightly challenging or energetic children! A direct but firm approach to engage trust and have fun.

Immediate Family (2-5 people): 60-90 minutes
Extended Family (6-10 people): 90-120 minutes
Large Family Gatherings: Custom timing
Multiple Location Sessions: 2-3 hours

We build in time for:

Absolutely! We encourage partners to participate, and including siblings creates beautiful family moments. For sessions with young children, we recommend bringing a helper to assist when they’re not being photographed.

We have lovely examples of outfits and combinations in our styling guide which you will receive before your session. You will also view many examples within our Gallery link, see Family.

Our Guidance and recommendations:

Complimenting and coordinating, avoid matching exactly
Similar tones and colour palettes
Avoid large logos or busy patterns
Layer with textures
Comfortable, well-fitted clothing
Consider location and seasons. Think outdoor Autumn weather with similar colours, mustards, navy, olive.
Beaches in Summer try white, neutrals, colours similar to environment.

For in studio, you are welcome to bring 1-2 outfit changes

It is so normal to feel self conscious but please don’t worry! Gentle retouching is included in all packages. If requested we can edit stretch marks, temporary skin blemishes, and other concerns while maintaining a natural look. Our posing techniques also help minimize areas of concern and focus on the connection to your newborn, not our body concerns.

The “golden hours” of sunrise and sunset provide the most flattering, soft lighting for maternity portraits. Harsh midday sun creates unflattering shadows and due to the heat can make you uncomfortable, especially during pregnancy.

This is where the magic happens! Trust in your photographer, Sarah has a way with people and she will gently guide you and pose all family members.

It’s the emotive conversation and the love and laughter you share during the session that creates your magic. You don’t need to plan ANYTHING – it will happen and all our clients worry about this – just look at their portraits!

We will invite you to our studio, or set up a video call for you to be WOW’d by your viewing gallery within 2 weeks from your session.

During this time you can also ask questions about newborn portraits and make some plans for your walls at home to hold a place to enjoy these stunning photos!

Studio sessions offer controlled lighting, more outfit changes, and are not weather dependent. Outdoor sessions provide natural lighting, scenic Sydney backdrops, and a more relaxed, candid feel. Many clients choose to combine both for variety.

With guidance if needed, your favourite images will be edited and retouched with your requests and sent to your within 2 to 4 weeks from appointment.

All wall art, print and albums are in production and will be received within a 10 to 15 day time frame.

WHERE DO WE SHOOT?

We photograph our maternity sessions both in-studio and on-location. We have some personal favourites in and around Sydney, guided by the light and time of year… but we are always open to our client’s inspiration!
